Thursday evening at the DW stadium was a brutal game with both packs going hammer and tong from the opening whistle, tempers flared throughout the first half especially after a high tackle from Jake Connor left Zak Hardaker fuming.

On the 10 minute mark it was the home side who opened up the scoring after Wests Tigers bound half back dummied and powered over from close out to give his side the lead.

Hull struck back just five minutes later after quick thinking from Jake Connor at dummy half saw winger Adam Swift on the end of a cut out ball who proceeded to finish acrobatically in the corner.

Wigan thought they were in again after great footwork and speed from young half Harry Smith led to him breaking the line but John Bateman was unable to take the ball for the six pointer.

The game was marred on the 33rd minute after Andre Savelio made a complaint that he was at the end of a racial slur from Wigan forward Tony Clubb. The incident will be reviewed in the coming days.

Four minutes later Man of the Match LIam Farrell broke the line from 20 yards out and showed great speed to round the fullback to go in under the sticks.

Hull were first on the board after the break when recalled winger Mahe Fonua out jumped Bevan French on a Marc Sneyd cross field kick.

Hull kept the scoreboard ticking over a few minutes later after a late shot allowed Marc Sneyd to slot over a penalty to give them a 4 point lead.

Wigan scored the game winning try on the 57 minute mark after quick hands allowed winger Jake Bibby to out power opposite winger Adam Swift to score.
