Round two saw all six games taken to the home of the 2020 Champions Saint Helens which could not have been a more poignant choice as it was the Mose Masoe benefit round at his former club. Mose suffered life-changing injuries during a preseason trial game for Hull KR, funds are currently being raised to send the great man back home to Australia with his young family to continue his recovery. Money can be donated at menofleague.com and former Canberra star John Bateman is auctioning his match boots off too.

Game of the Round

Leeds Rhinos 10–18 Castleford Tigers — (MOM Jake Trueman)

This week’s game of the round saw bitter West Yorkshire rivals square off in a bruising encounter to open day 2, Zane Tetevano did not take long to get into the spirit of things delivering several bone-crunching tackles in the opening 20.

Oliver Holmes continued his red-hot start to the campaign crashing through Corey Hall to score the back-rowers third try in two-game on 11 minutes. It did not take long for the Tigers young superstar half and eventual MOM Jake Trueman to get involved after silky footwork around tiring middles got him into open field before getting the ball to Daniel Smith who offloaded to Niall Evalds who was tracking up the middle and went under the posts to score.

Leeds was the next side on the board on the half-hour mark after a long cut out ball by the impressive Jack Broadbent saw stand-in winger Luke Briscoe go over in the corner.

The Rhinos got the games next score on the 60-minute mark through veteran front-rower Matt Prior who received the ball after a sniping run from dummy half before powering over from 10 out to make it 10–12.

But it was to be Castleford who took home the competition points after a great rainbow ball from fullback Niall Evalds to winger Jordan Turner who went over to seal the game.
