Trevor Lawrence (Clemson) QB 6FT6 220lbs

Trevor Lawrence

Has been destined to be the number 1 draft pick since his time at Cartersville High School, the Clemson superstar won the 2019 National Championships in 2019 and lost out in the final in 2020. A big and athletic quarterback with a huge arm but shows great touch on his throws as well, not afraid to take contact when running if needed but gets down when he needs to avoid unnecessary hits. Another string to his bow is that he is incredibly good at play action/RPO which will open up defences in the NFL. Will go to the Jags number 1 overall and they hope he will be the face of the franchise for the next 15 years.

Ja’Marr Chase (LSU) WR 6FT 200lbs

Ja’Marr Chase

Opted out of playing in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic but that does not change the fact that Ja’Marr is the premier WR in the 2021 draft. In his 2 years playing at LSU Chase finished with 107 catches, 2095 yards, 19.6 avg, 78 long and 23 touchdowns. An all-around receiver who has the speed to be a deep threat but also is physical enough to go and get the ball over DB’s. Great hands, dangerous on slant routes and shows and ability to break tackles and take it to the house. I can see him going to the Dolphins to give young Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa a true number one wideout.

Kyles Pitts (Florida Gators) TE 6FT6 239lbs

Kyle Pitts

The 2020 first-team SEC/All-American and John Mackay award winner Kyle Pitts is by far the number one tight end in this 2021 draft. Finished the 2020 season with 12 touchdowns in 8 games with 770 yards on 43 catches. After watching the tape Pitts looks like Darren Waller 2.0, who is too fast for most linebackers and too big for defensive backs which causes a matchup nightmare. Deep threat with an ability to get open on short to intermediate routes as well. Would be an ideal pairing with a young quarterback so would be a perfect fit at 5 with the Bengals and Joe Burrows or at 6 with Philly and Jalen Hurts, especially with the trade rumours for Zach Ertz swirling.

Caleb Farley (Virginia Tech) CB 6FT2 207lbs

Caleb Farley

Caleb has everything you look for in a lockdown number one cornerback with his elite size, speed, length, and ball skills. Shows a great ability to track the ball deep and take it away from the receivers, also has great instincts to break in front of the receivers to knock down or intercept passes. Strong hands and a good tackler in open play. Would be a perfect fit at 9 with the Denver Broncos after they let AJ Bouye this offseason.

Rashawn Slater (Northwestern) OT 6FT3 305lbs

Rashawn Slater

Whilst it is easy to swoon for the size and pure strength of Penei Sewell I think that the technique of Slater makes him a better fit for the next level. Very mobile OT with quick strong hands, understands leverage very well and if anyone needs more convincing look up the tape of him shutting down Chase Young. Diverse skillset which makes him an extremely attractive pick for many teams, but I expect him to go the 49ers at 12 or the Chargers at 13 to protect their record-breaking rookie Justin Herbert.
